Breast exams

Mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI.

Taking tissue samples

X-ray-guided vacuum biopsy (stereotaxy), ultrasound-guided punch biopsy, MRI-guided vacuum biopsy, fine needle aspiration.

Genetic counseling and testing

Only about 5-10% of all breast cancers are hereditary. However, if there is a family history of breast and ovarian cancer, genetic counseling may be useful.

Breast surgery

Breast cancer surgery and plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.

Chemotherapy and antibody therapy

Classical chemotherapy generally attacks fast-growing cells with a high division rate, while antibody therapy specifically targets a particular characteristic of the tumor cells. It is carried out in the Oncology and Hematology Center.

Hormone therapies

Estrogen-lowering therapy, e.g. with aromatase inhibitors or tamoxifen.

Irradiation

Radiotherapy is used to prevent or slow the growth of the tumor.
