Our services
Specialized consultation
In-depth consultation and discussion of any surgeries by a member of the colorectal team, usually by Reint Burger, MD, Chief of Visceral Surgery.
Tumor surgery on the intestine
Whenever possible, tumor tissue is gently removed using the so-called keyhole technique and also, increasingly, the DaVinci robot - for utmost precision and safety.
Our team
Our colorectal team, consisting of Dr. R. Burger, Dr. S. Eisoldt, and Prof. Ralph Peterli, has extensive experience in treating diseases of the colon and rectum. The spectrum ranges from benign and functional disorders to complex colorectal tumor surgery. Where medically appropriate, we use modern minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgical techniques with the Da Vinci surgical system.
We treat functional disorders using an interdisciplinary approach at the certified pelvic floor center at Männedorf Hospital.
For highly complex tumor conditions—particularly deep-seated rectal carcinomas or when surgery is required to remove metastases in the liver or lungs—we work closely with the Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich. Our colorectal surgeons are personally involved in the procedures there as well. Further care and follow-up treatment then take place once again in the familiar surroundings of Männedorf Hospital.
In this way, we combine personalized, ongoing care with modern robot-assisted surgery and the capabilities of highly specialized, interdisciplinary tumor surgery.
