Bedside Vigil

Staff carrying out a bedside vigil are there for people who are alone or have no one nearby who can be there for them. Particularly in times of anxiety or fear, the presence of another person makes many things easier. Our nursing service has the possibility to call on members of the bedside vigil team if necessary and to relieve the burden.

Guard and escort
The presence of a sitter at the bedside has a variety of effects on patients suffering from dementia or who are confused or seriously ill; the fear of the unfamiliar and unknown is reduced. these night time guards relieve relatives who are reaching the limits of their strength.
Association "Sitzwache"
Männedorf Hospital works closely with the Sitzwache Spital Männedorf association. The association has around 40 members who can provide voluntary services. Männedorf Hospital organizes regular professional training for the members and accompanies them.
