In the obesity consultation, we will discuss the therapy options open to you in order to treat your obesity. Our goal is always the same: to mutually select and implement the best possible obesity treatment as a team. The focus is always on you, your needs and your individual lifestyle and diet.
The possibilities of conservative (i.e. non-surgical) weight reduction can be used both as an alternative and as a complementary and accompanying measure to gastric surgery. The main goal is to make lifestyle changes in the long term without limiting the quality of life. We offer all conservative measures in Männedorf or with our partner the University Hospital Zurich.
Our physiotherapists accompany you during sports activities, so that an individual program is possible as well as group programs. Among other things, our running group meets twice a week to exercise together and thus (re)find the joy of movement.
Both before and after surgery, our specialized psychiatrists provide support and guidance. It is important that the social and psychological factors are already included in the clarifications. It can however be that the changed circumstances of life after an operation also represent a major challenge, which is easier to overcome with professional psychological support.
Our nutritionists offer you support and expertise because they know many ways to adapt your diet to your needs. At the same time, there is no one right way. Finding out what is the best support for you is an important part of nutrition counseling.
In combination with nutrition and exercise therapy, there is also the possibility of drug therapy for weight reduction. In Switzerland, two drugs are approved for weight reduction: Orlistat and Liraglutide. It is important that drug therapy is not used alone, but always in conjunction with lifestyle change measures.
