Diagnostics and surgical treatment

For example, in cases of lung cancer (tumors/metastases), distended lungs (emphysema), pleural cancer (malignant pleural mesothelioma), pleural suppuration (pleural empyema), pleural effusion (pleural effusion), pneumothorax, thoracic injuries, etc.

Thoracic surgery consultation

The consultation is offered every Wednesday and is conducted by Prof. Dr. med. Isabelle Schmitt-Opitz, Director of the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery of the USZ or Dr. med. Didier Schneiter, Deputy Director of the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery of the USZ, in Männedorf.

Tumor boards

Within the framework of our interdisciplinary tumor case discussions, an individual treatment concept is determined in consultation with specialists in pneumology and oncology.

Complex operations

Minor operations are performed directly at Männedorf Hospital, while more complex operations are performed at Zurich University Hospital.

Pre and post treatment

Oncological or pneumological pre- and post-treatment is always carried out by our specialists at Männedorf Hospital.

Treatment is carried out by an interdisciplinary team from surgery, pneumology, radiology and oncology at Männedorf Hospital as well as the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery at Zurich University Hospital (USZ).
